Plopsa announces Czech Republic expansion with new theme park
POSTED 11 Mar 2020 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones

I am particularly pleased that we can work with the Czech partners and I am convinced that the three of us can turn this into a success story
– Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO Plopsa Group
Plopsa Group, the theme park division of family entertainment company Studio 100, has announced plans for a new indoor theme park in Prague, Czech Republic.

The new park is expected to open in 2021, with construction set to begin as soon as possible. It will be the first Plopsaland theme park in the Czech Republic and will centre around Maya the Bee – a Studio 100 character. 15 attractions, including a rollercoaster, tower and whirligig are included in the plans.

The development will be funded by investment from Czech-based investment firms TNI Group and Kaprain and will be located inside the Kaprain-owned Premium Outlet Prague Airport shopping centre.

"I am particularly pleased that we can work with the Czech partners and I am convinced that the three of us can turn this into a success story," said Steve Van den Kerkhof, Plopsa Group CEO.

"With the good location of the park near the shopping centre and the airport, we hope to receive not only families, but also many tourists."

The new park is one of several upcoming developments for the group, which includes a number of Plopsaqua waterparks, as well as the Plopsa Hotel in Dupanne, opening between now and 2023.
